June 14, 2011: This Is Not The Comedy We Set Out To Do

Marc laments a decidedly first-world problem: he feels too restricted to do Low Budget FM as he'd like to do it. Plus: Cioffi laments a sad, unfunny comedy show in Hollywood. So really, a lot of lamenting.

HOLY artificial cat scrotums Batman! Marc, i gotta give you the mad crazy stupid retarted stupendous props on suggesting the movie "THE BOYS AND GIRLS GUIDE TO GETTING DOWN". This movie is just phlat out genius! So, i figure one good turn deserves another, so i STRONGLY suggest the English movie HUMAN TRAFFIC which is basically an earlier British version of this movie in a non documentary form. You will not be sorry good sir, or my alcoholism isn't completely based around Korean beer.

Hi Marc, For what it's worth, I'm totally with Mike about you grossly underselling all of the other great things that you bring to the podcast. I really enjoy the life situation banter episodes, and I appreciate that you discuss your life, but the bits and the sort of non sequiturs are amazing too. It may not be ideally what you want to do, but even if you take the personalization back a notch or two it's still one hell of a show. Easily my favorite show out there.

I agree with Travis. The shows without you are 20 minutes shorter because you bring funny and intelligent conversation to the podcast, and really keep it going.

It's too bad that people in your life are getting upset with you. You tell stories from your life to anonymous people on the internet. It's not like you're telling family and friends at the Thanksgiving table how they have disappointed you.

You guys are awesome when you get together and while I really dig the more "real" topics as well, I'll echo the other two gents in saying the bits and forays into more absurdist comedy is a riot as well. I think, though, Marc is not really saying what he means when he undervalues those bits. They aren't inferior, they're just not what's in his heart to want to do.

Clearly, there is only one solution. Flying bears sent to half the people whoare giving him grief, aquatic raptors for the rest.

Part of what makes the show great is Marc's willingness to discuss his personal life on a very public forum. I've long thought this had to be wreaking havoc on Marc's interpersonal relationships. My advice would be to tell these so called "friends" to go straight to hell. You've got thousands of potential new friends listening to the show every week, at least until you tell a veiled unflattering anecdote about us. Seriously though, maybe the people in your life are whiny D-Bags if they can't handle you telling people they've never met and will never meet about how you got drunk and texted their girlfriends. Grow up losers, Marc has a platform and you don't, ipso facto his version is gospel. You guys rock keep up the good work

Bitches can't talk and tell the truth at the same time...when they hear someone else do it they get jealous.

One of the most disheartening episodes of lowbudget fm I've ever listened to. Marc is the soul of the show, the glue that holds all the pieces together, and when he's gone the show suffers. Mike, John, Brent, etc are all funny and bring something unique to the show, but to Marc is the anchor that holds it all down. Everyone is better when Marc is on, and the show suffers when he isnt. Musings on life, love, and the awkward situations he (and others) finds himself in are the highlights of lowbudget. I hope marc figures out the best way to balance his relationships and the honest way he discusses his life, because as funny as all the bits are, its Marc, and Mikes, lives that i relate to, and that I look forward to.

Ps. Was thrilled to hear my name mentioned in the podcast the other day along with my stupid facebook question. Completely caught me off guard. I really was just looking to hear the score drop, but brent's rendition was a nice substitute.

Love the show,
Sam

No one presses a 'turkey gobble' sound drop like you, buddy. Chin up.

Marc is the 'engine room' of Low Budget FM. We've had editions of the show without Marc and - I think we'd all agree - they are good podcasts but Marc always takes the show to a different level.
